Kickin' It in Kansas City (8.2-8.3.22)

What happens when you miss the great Kirk Franklin when he comes to NC?  Well, you find the next best place and get tickets to see him.  That's what we did when we used our SW points to get $11 flights to Kansas City, MO.  I'd never been before, and you know I don't mind burning up a road.

Here's what we did, and had a fun time...

*flew out from RDU early on Tuesday, 8/2

*visited the Negro League Baseball Museum

*Rented e-bikes to cruise a few blocks

*Visited the Kansas City Chiefs football stadium

*Ate at Gate's BBQ, which were were told had the best

*Attended the Kirk Franklin & Maverick City concert with special guests, Isaac Caree, Jonathan McReynolds, & Tamela Mann

*flew back home early Wednesday, 8/3

It's a Family Affair (7.30.22)

My Martinsville family is kind of spread around the East Coast.  So it was great to have almost everyone come together for a gathering and baby shower for one of the "little" cousins at my Aunt Lucy's house.

Dancing Dudleys (7.23.22)

If you don't know about James Benson Dudley High School, then you need to do some research.  I have Aggie Pride for days, but the pride that Dudley grads have is just absolutely outstanding for a high school.

The yearly reunion is for all alumni, and they go all out with support.

I've attended the dances in the past with my friend, Jen Jen, and was excited to return this year.  I almost sweated out my weave dancing!  Such a fun night.
