After successfully getting Maya to her senior prom, I headed to Haw River State Park to join the Black Girls Camp NC Chapter for a weekend of adventures. The cottages there are just like a hotel.
Heading to the fishing class. I didn't partake, as I don't touch worms or squirmy fish, but it was fun watching the other ladies catch and release.
Ranger Kathryn was so full of energy and fun!
After fishing and lunch, we broke out in groups for wilderness survival training. We learned to build a fire and an emergency shelter.
I learned to play the game Po-ke-no & Spoons-which is so much fun!
Once I left Haw River Sunday morning, I scooped up my Godbaby and we headed to the Lazy 5 Ranch with Outdoor Afro Charlotte. It was our first time visiting, and it was pretty neat. As a group, we rode the wagon versus the car drive through.
