Celebrate! Celebrate! Aggies Beat Grambling State! (12.16.17-12.17.17)

I am one extremely happy Aggie right now!  I've always had pride as an Aggie alum, but never truly cared about the sports programs.  All my pride just came from the historical alumni and from the impact that A&T has in the Greensboro community.  I mean, we aren't crowned GHOE for nothing.

But I can truly say that now my pride has been heightened after the Aggies won their 2nd Celebration Bowl in 3 years AND had an undefeated season.  That's right, they went 12-0 this year.  And I was there to witness history in the making.

As I looked throughout the Mercedes-Benz stadium, I was in awe at how the Aggies and Aggie lovers came out to show support.  Blue and gold filled the MEAC side.

A-G-G-I-E, WHAT!  P-R-I-D-E, WHAT!  GIMME DAT, GIMME DAT, WHAT! GIMME DAT, GIMME DAT, WHAT!

CAN I GET AN AGGIE PRIDE?  AGGIE PRIDE!

23 Years and Counting...(12.10.17)

It was my senior year of high school in 1994.  Jewell Drewry came up to me to tell me about a meeting regarding some college tours.  Since I wasn't exactly sure on where I wanted to attend, I felt I needed to be there.

So I begged my mama to head over to Rev. Anderson's church on "Fed" (Fayette) St.  Some people from Greensboro came to recruit kids for the tour.  After begging my mom again to pay the fee and let me attend, and convincing Mr. Talley to not count me & Jewell absent for attending, I packed my bags to meet up at St. James Presbyterian Church.

It was there where I fully met the Sanders family and the start of my friendship with Phylishers!!!

She has been my friend, my babysitter, and my sister since then.  And now baby sis is about to turn 40.

Her mom orchestrated a surprise dinner cruise for Phee and her friends/family.  Somehow, her cousin convinced her she was going to some private event where Michelle Obama was speaking.  She was extremely surprised, and we had a great time.

We all picked cupcakes with a letter from Phee's name.  We had to pick a word that described her using that letter.  I ended up with "I".  My word was "ignant (slang for ignorant).  Of course, I mean it in a good way.  Phee is that one friend that I know I can just be completely ignant with, and we can be silly.  Loves me some ignant Phee!!!

And one of the best parts was that I didn't get extremely motion sick!!!  There's hope for me and boats after all.

Ladies Night with a Dude (12.2.17)

Unfortunately, I didn't get many pics from this concert, but it was a good memory that I needed to capture.

When I was younger, I always wanted to come to concerts in Greensboro to see my fave R&B artists.  It just never happened.  Now that I work at the coliseum part-time, I'm definitely making up for lost time.

But it's a joy to see a concert as a patron as opposed to a worker bee.

Thanks to Dwayne, I was able to enjoy Ladies Night in Charlotte.

The line up was full of some talented lady artists-June's Diary (group from Kelly Rowland's reality show), Zonnique (Tiny's daughter), Tamar Braxton, Monica, and Xscape.
All the ladies put on excellent performances.
