Too Live Crew Hits the Water 10.14.17

Sunday, 8/20/17-
Schmanne:  "Would you go whitewater rafting?"
Me:  "Yup.  Let's go.  When?"

And now the rest is history.....

After googling some places and working through our schedules, Schmanne, Shana, and I opted to take on the water with Blue Heron Whitewater Rafting in Marshall, NC (just outside of Asheville, NC).

I know I called them a gazillion times (well, maybe 2-3), but definitely with a gazillion questions.  I'm adventurous, but I've got to do my research first.  My biggest concern was my motion sickness.
Ed was our guide.  He kept us entertained with local history and corny (but funny) jokes.

How many Martinsvillians does it take to pump gas???

Shana leaped from a rock into the water.  So proud of her.

Schmanne and Shana were both brave enough to jump out of the raft to ride the waves.

At the very end, in an effort to rescue someone else's duck, our raft got stuck on a rock.  It was the funniest part of the entire ride.  But thank God we survived, and motion sickness didn't show up for the adventure.

Although we're not ready to ride in a duck solo, I think we're ready to take on class IV and V streams.

What can we do next, Ladies????

GHOE 2017 (10.6.17-10.8.17)

As a pride filled Aggie, I'll admit that this was the best GHOE ever for me.

I started out celebrating at the COBE (College of Business & Econ) alumni cookout on Friday.

The Step Show was cool.  Since I was on the clock, I didn't get any pictures, but I was thoroughly impressed by Phi Beta Sigma.  They flipped the New Edition story into the Blu Edition story, and did an amazing job.  Needless to say, they won for the frats.

Even though I didn't attend the entire 3 1/2 hour parade on Saturday, we did manage to see a little something.  The drizzly rain kept a lot of people from coming out, but it was still a great crowd.

Why was Pam hiding behind the table at the bookstore????

We bypassed attending the game, but strolled through the yard where we saw some very interesting things.  I don't know why I don't whip my camera out more than I do, but oh well.

A special thanks to a special friend that treated me to my first GHOE night party at the Kress and made the night extra exciting and amazing.

I even snagged a pic with my girl JB.
Aggies can party with Spartans!
And because I was able to party Saturday night, I had to party with the Lord at the alumni church service held at the Sheraton in conjunction with MTZBC (my church).  I got there just in time for the Word.

Since I had gotten about 2 hours of sleep Saturday night, I passed out for a few hours before attending the alumni gospel show with the Manns.  David Manns was hilarious, and of course Tamela sang her butt off.

Aggies can party with Eagles too

Now, gotta get my energy back in order to prepare for this upcoming weekend.  Friends and water will await me.....

Bentley's Meltdown 10.1.17

On Sunday, October 1, the girls and I headed to Raleigh to treat my dad for his birthday.  He choose to eat at Bahama Breeze, and it was our first time eating there.  It was a pretty nice place.

I decided to test Bentley to see how he could handle staying in the bathroom as opposed to his crate while we were gone.  I did this partly because I didn't know exactly how long we'd be gone, and I didn't want him cooped up for too long.

I proceeded to take everything off the floor, tuck away the shower curtain, and set up the baby gate.  I made sure to put his wee patch in the floor and give him his toys as well.  What I neglected to do was to put my towel up that was hanging from the towel bar and remove the toilet paper that was on the holder.

This is what we came home to....

He practically shredded the toilet paper that was on the holder and decorated the floor with my bath towel.  He did manage to pee and poop, partially on the wee patch and partially on the floor.

I also have a clear shoe holder hanging on the back of the entry door.  He managed to devour  of the pockets on it as well.  He better be glad that I love his little butt.  However, the ruling stands that he just isn't ready for non-crate life.

September Randoms

I'm sooooo behind on posting.  UGH!!!  September didn't have too many major adventures, but here's my brief reflection on what did take place....

Surprise!!!! 9.22.17
My sister turned 40 on 9/25, and her wonderful husband threw her a surprise birthday party.  He did an amazing job, even had a band and a DJ.  She had no idea, but you could feel the love and appreciation.  And of course, we turnt up on the dance floor.

Me and my birthday Boo

Revolutionary Drumline 9.26.17
For the final movie night at Revolution Mills, they showed the movie "Drumline".  They also had A&T's Cold Steel Drumline come do a performance.  Maya, Bentley, and I attended along with Jenny and her grands, and Pam and Makayla.

She's Married Now
The following weekend my long-time friend, Lynn, said "I do".  And I got to be a bridesmaid.  Yippee.  Another great weekend filled with fun, laughs, and love.
