Delightful Days at Dreher (2.21.21-2.23.21)

As usual nature was calling to comfort me from the stresses of the job.  And as usual, I answered the call.  After being introduced to this park a few months ago by a friend, I've been dying to get here.  I will definitely be coming back when it warms up with the kayak.  Such a beautiful place.

We made our way to loop A, campsite #10.  Such a great spot, right along the water.

We took a great hike on the 2-mile trail.

Often when I'm looking at the trees, I see dancers and/or dance moves or other figures in them.  I also sometimes give them names.  I'm going to start tagging the pics with the names I give them. ... Here's a few...

The campground bathhouse was pretty nice.  The shower set up was a tad bit weird, but the shower sizes were the biggest that I've seen thus far.  I'll just have to remember NOT to use fireworks in the bathroom next time.

This was definitely a nice relaxing spot.  Looking forward to returning.

Muddy Medoc (1.30-1.31.21)

After a semi-stressful work week, I was longing for some alone time in nature.  And Medoc Mountain State Park didn't disappoint.   The park is pretty much in the midst of nowhere in Hollister, NC.

The trail was super muddy.  Bentley was completely filthy after hiking about 5 miles.  But I have him his first bath in Ruby.  The snow from earlier in the week was still lingering.  I met a couple traveling in a huge Class A RV with a truck hitched and a spider.  They were traveling from Syracuse, NY.

We woke up to freezing rain Sunday morning, but we were warm and toasty inside of Ruby.
