Outdoor Afro-Greensboro/Triad #1 (5.22.21)

Outdoor Afro finally has a Greensboro/Triad network, and I get the pleasure of serving as co-leader.

We held our first event at Lake Brandt on the Nat Greene trail.  We had a great turnout with only a few mishaps-1. road block near the trail entrance and 2. somehow the group of 30+ got split up and some of us ended up on the bike trail.  Everything worked out in the end, and I believe everyone had a good time.

A few of us ate at CoreLife Eatery afterwards to enjoy the 20% group discount they gave us.

Work-Sis Dee encountered this lovely critter.

To the Top I Go!!! (5.13-5.15.21)

After years of wanting to go, I finally made it to Stone Mountain, GA!  The gas shortage almost thwarted my plans of going, but I buckled down my faith and journeyed ahead.  I stopped at half a tank a few times on the way there with no issues.  However, on the way back, I did encounter two gas stations that were completely out of gas (one in GA and one in SC).  It just meant I had to go a little farther into town to fill up the tank.

Still not at the very top yet.

I had to lay down for a rest break.

After 16k+ steps, I had hiked 7.86 miles in less than 3 hours.  That time includes some breaks/rest stops.  I'm pretty proud of myself!!!
