A Sea of Red Bags (6.12-6.14.20)

We ventured out to Myrtle Beach, SC.  It's been about 5 years since we've been there.  The weather wasn't the greatest for a beach trip, cool and rainy, but we made the best of it.

We hit up Broadway at the Beach on Friday and Saturday nights.

My takeaways...
*I need it to be HOT at the beach for me to enjoy the ocean and pool
*I will NOT stay at Sand Dunes Resort again.  The rooms weren't clean; the linens (which I don't use anyway) were dingy; there was a half dead roach in on the of the rooms; the amenities seemed more appropriate for smaller kids
*I'm directionally challenged on return trips from MB

We all purchased sleeping bags, since we didn't trust the linens.  Yuck!

Mini Mayo Minutes (6.20-6.21)

I've been trying to drag my peeps out into nature for quite some time.

Maya & I were finally heading to Mayo River State Park in Mayodan.  We get about 2 minutes into the hike, and it starts raining.  Because the trees seemed dense and it was light rain, I figured we could keep going.  Well of course, it started pouring, and we were drenched.  Time to head back home.  Poor Bentley was so muddy.

I figured I'd try again on Sunday.  So me & Bentley headed to Gibson Park in Jamestown.  We enjoyed our little time together.

She's Sixteen!!! (6.6.20)

The last of my youngins turned 16.

She started the celebration with getting her nails done and a new hairdo in preparation for her photo shoot (a few of the pics below).   She was then surprised by a birthday parade of family and a few friends, with her dad gifting her a car at the caboose.  Next was a surprise dinner at Kabutos (Arigatos was closed), and a surprise limo ride around town.

Due to COVID-19, we were a little limited on how to celebrate, but she was happy with the results.

Specials thanks to Arisha Caviness of Simply Divine Decor for the backdrop; Kim Staples for the photography; & Perez Johnson of Johnson Limo.
