We took to the skies to gather up some sun in the Sunshine State.
The big kid and & I visited Miami back in December. Now it was time to bring the little kid, with some friends accompanying us for their first visit to Miami.
My motion sickness patch worked great for my flights, so I was thrilled. The after effects Sunday evening into Monday weren't so great, but definitely better than being motion sick. We stayed at the Bahia Mar Doubletree in Ft. Lauderdale, which had great cookies and beach access.

After catching some of the show at The Palace, hitting up the Design District and another mall area, we returned to the Miami beach area for dinner along the strip at Voodoo. Let's just say that eating at Voodoo wasn't the best experience.
I hosted an Outdoor Afro G/T event in conjunction with Center City Park's outdoor concert series. Since Dee didn't really want to do anything for her birthday, she came and hung out with us.

I hosted an Intro to Kayaking event at City Lake Park in High Point. Due to my ongoing saga with motion sickness, I didn't hit the water. However, I had just as much fun seeing the newbies learn, enjoy themselves experience something new, and most definitely enjoying the nature aspect.

Camping at Myrtle Beach State Park
Due to rain, I was unable to tour much of the park, but I still had a great time. I will definitely be returning. The park is conveniently located and easy to access. I enjoyed my time at Broadway at the Beach and watching my Aggie track team win big online at the NCAA Track & Field championships.
I finally got a chance to do the Water Walking Ball. It was so much harder than I expected to get and keep my balance. I was exhausted (video below).

Happy Juneteenth!
Unfortunately, many are unaware of the history of Juneteenth. But it's now a federal holiday. In an effort to celebrate, I hosted a Juneteenth hike at Haw River State Park for Outdoor Afro Greensboro/Triad. We were gifted with t-shirts from the NC State Park system. Fun fact about the area is that it was once part of Africa during the Pangea era.
I continued my celebrating by heading to Jones Lake State Park after the hike. JLSP was the first state park in NC that was established for black people during segregation.
The water at Jones Lake looks like tea due to chemicals released by plants under the water.
JLSP bathhouse is now the best campground bathhouse I've encountered. It knocked Tallulah Gorge to 2nd place.

Bentley & I left JLSP and headed to Carolina Beach State park. Sadly, my reserved spot was not parking friendly (at least not for me). But they allowed me to switch spots to a pull-through site, #13. Yay!!!
Dogs are allowed on the beach after 5p, but this fella wasn't interested in getting his feet wet like I was.

Annapolis, MD
First I'll say that camping in Annapolis wasn't that bad. However, nature adventuring wasn't the best. I used my tent instead of taking Edyn, but I forgot to take pictures of the setup. I actually didn't get many pics at all.
