Cedarock Park (1.23.21)

What was supposed to be a hike with a group turned into a solo hike.  As I was about to head to Burlington, my tire light came on notifying me of low pressure.  Of course, I had to handle that, which made me miss the group.

But a solo hike is just as good to me.  So glad to have learned of this little fairly local hidden gem.

Georgia on My Mind: Tallulah Gorge State Park Take 2 (1.16-1.17.21)

I was able to enjoy TGSP back in November when I did my solo SC/GA trip.  However, I didn't get to go close to the gorge floor or walk the suspension bridge.  Unicoi was less than an hour away, so I figured I'd head back for the rest of my Saturday afternoon.  (VIDEO BELOW)

I see why dogs aren't allowed on this part of the trail.

My starting point is off in the distance.

Sunday morning, we woke up ready to pack up, shower, and head back home.  It was a great weekend.

He's such a bed hogger!

Georgia on My Mind: Anna Ruby Falls (1.16.21)

We did actually sleep in the tent Friday night, and it was cold.  My little heater just couldn't keep up with the 20 degree weather.  However, with all my clothing and covers, I would've been fine.  Unfortunately, the brand new air mattress that I hunted down either already had a leak or the cold air caused it to sink.  I woke up several times during the night to repump the bed. Either way, it was returned to Walmart.

As we attempted to get up, we woke up to snow.  UGH!!!!

We took our time packing up the van and rearranging our setup, as I knew I'd be sleeping in Ruby instead of the tent on Saturday night.    But it was a light snow, so we headed around the corner to check out Anna Ruby Falls.

Me & Chineal (my Outdoor Afro camping buddy)

I tried to bring a little snow back with me.  Nah, not really.  So glad it wasn't much.

More to come....
