Miami Mamasitas (12.25-12.26.20)

Dee & I decided to celebrate Christmas in Miami.  She'd been there before, but it was my first time.  I can now mark it off the list.  With a round-trip, non-stop ticket for $69, who could say "no".  Well, Maya did, but she had a few reasons.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest.  It was cold, so we really couldn't get into the ocean.  But I think we enjoyed the little time that we had there.  We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and rode the Tri-Rail to the Miami airport.  I must say that I was disappointed in American Airlines COVID precautions.  There were no spaces between seats at all.  Of course we were masked up and avoided touching anything but our own stuff.  If we did, the hand sanitizer was pulled out with the quickness.  I must say that my semi-germaphobic self has been prepared for quite some time.

I have no idea why I didn't take my neck pillow off after the flight.

We had supper at The Sugar Factory.  Of course I forgot to snap a pic of our food, but Dee did get a vid of her exotic drink.

Ocochonee Mountain State Natural Area (12.19.20)

As I pulled up into the parking lot, I realized that I had already been to this park with my sister, Vicky, a few years back.  Of course, I brought Bentley along.  With his new hairdo, he was the center of attention.  A fellow Outdoor Afro member even recognized him from me posting to the OA FB page.

I also treated myself to a used kayak purchase.  Looking forward to more adventures with this baby...

Joyous Jordan Lake-Take 2 (12.12-12.13.20)

So I learned from Take 1, that camping with Kenji isn't going to cut the mustard.  I definitely didn't like loading Kenji, unloading at the campsite, loading back up for home, then unloading again once I got home.  It also took up too much space in my extra closet.  UGH!!!

So I revamped Rudy and decided to keep her as my travel vehicle; keeping all my city and tent camping items in her.

Here's my new Ozark Trails Darkrest Tent.  Love it!

Had a great time camping and kayaking with my Outdoor Afro peeps.

Here's a better pic of Bentley's new hairdo...
