May Madness 2018

Eighth Grade Dance at AJP
My how things have changed since my oldest went to her 8th grade dance.   She just wore a simple little sundress, no make-up, no special hairdo, just a simple dance.  Not the case for the youngest.  I really thought we were getting ready for her wedding or something!!!!

I'm glad all the kids had a great time.  Can someone give me my chunky baby back????

 Here Kitty, Kitty

I finally had my first opportunity to volunteer with the animal shelter.  I've always had a bigger heart for dogs, but trying to get these little buggers adopted softened my heart for kittens.

I really wanted to bring him home, but it's a good thing I didn't.  Bentley wouldn't have appreciated it.

After cleaning myself up (had to get the pet store smell and the cat hair off), I journeyed to WS to Kahlan's graduation cookout.  Jamie, if you read this, I still want that picture!!!!

We finished up the weekend by going to see the movie Breaking In with Gabrielle Union.  It was pretty good, but the reclining seats in the theater served as the real superstar!

She really was happy to be in the picture.  :)

Memorial Day Weekend

Now that the weather is warming up, I've been trying to warm up my fins.  Unfortunately, the weather put a damper on my original pool plans.   I was hoping to hang out at the pool most of the day on Saturday, but it ending up closing due to rain/storms.  The great thing is that I did manage to get to the pool on Friday and Sunday.  Thanks to Pam, Kayla, & Taylor for hanging out with us.  I finally got the nerve to actually jump into the pool, and I did it twice!

After all of that excitement, we journeyed to the Bull City to see my buddy Tara.  We had fun catching up with each other.  Class of '95 still 'Kickin Live' (our senior theme) with all that "Flavor in Ya Ear" (our senior song).

No Name #1 (5.5-5.6.18)

I've been installing crochet braids in my hair and Maya's for years now.  I've installed some for others a few times in the past as well. For me, learning how to corn row was the hardest part.  Since my hair is so thick and course, I can just two-strand flat twist, wash it, and it holds with no problems.

I'm a firm believer in teaching someone to fish instead of just giving them a fish.  With that said, I was happy to teach my first student how to install them.   Congratulations, Ken Ken!!!  You've now earned a way to pay for getting your nails done.  Grandma Jen Jen is happy.

Later than evening, I hung out with my Rogers family to celebrate GP's birthday.  Too bad I didn't take any pics, but I enjoyed playing Uno with the folk and watching the Spades games.

After serving in Imagine Kingdom Sunday, I scooped up my Godbaby and we met up with my big sis and my niece at the Natural Science Center.
